POP! By Gentilhomme

The Downtown Austin Alliance Foundation is bringing POP! by Gentilhomme to Republic Square from March 8, 2024 to March 22, 2024! The installation will bring surprises, music and dance to our park. Set the creatures free by calling out to them or by singing while they're in Austin.

This Community Activated Parks Project is undergoing a community engagement process to explore ideas on how to revitalize this downtown greenspace through a new mural that tells the story of this area of Austin.

Republic Square Mural Sculpture

The Republic Square Mural Sculpture stood proudly in the park from March to May 2023, a beacon representing Austin’s diversity and multiculturalism. In honor of Black History Month, Women’s History Month and Austin’s Mexican American Heritage Corridor, the selected artists show us important moments in Austin’s past, present and future through their eyes.

301 Congress Porch

Anchored by the 5-story mural “Where the Wildflowers Grow” by the artist DAAS, the 301 Congress Porch is amid a massive transformation. Putting community-driven design first, this nook of Austin’s downtown is quickly becoming a place for creativity, inspiration, and activity for all.

The ARTBOX program creates large impact murals on the smallest of urban canvases. With over 800 boxes in downtown Austin, the ARTBOX program will continue to inspire and beautify for years to come.

Ann Richards Public Art Project

Celebrating Women’s History Month by installing a striking series of ninety-six “Ann Banners” along Congress Avenue from the Ann Richards Bridge to the Texas State Capitol.

Writing on the Walls 2020

Writing on the Walls is an annual series of collaborative public art installations and events. At the inaugural event in March 2020, local, national, and international artists simultaneously created two new landmarks in downtown Austin.
