Join KUT News, KUTX 98.9 & the Downtown Austin Alliance for our 30th Annual Tree Lighting, Sing-Along and Stroll. Let’s ring in the holidays together. This free family-friendly event is on Congress Avenue between 8th and 11th streets. Featuring artisan vendors, food trucks, photos with Santa and more, the Holiday Stroll is the perfect way to kick off your holiday season.

Main Stage Schedule

3:00 pm – 4:00 pm: Yappy Holidays – Dog Holiday Costume Contest
4:00 pm – 5:00 pm: Kwanzaa tribute presented by Elizabeth Kahura/African Safari Program
5:00 pm – 6:00 pm: The Tiarras
6:00 pm – 7:00 pm: KUT and KUTX Sing-Along
7:00 pm – 8:00 pm: The Tiarras
7:00 pm: Countdown to the Holiday Tree Lighting

Getting Here

There is street parking located around Congress Ave.
or free parking at the following garages located just a few short blocks from the event:

● Capitol Visitors Parking Garage | 1201 San Jacinto Blvd.
● Garage F | 1311 San Jacinto Blvd.

We encourage attendees to take different modes of transportation if possible:

● Capital Metro: Plan your transit trip
● Bird Scooters: Ride with Bird
● Bring your bike: Bike parking is available on-site
● Lyft: Ride with Lyft

Event street closure is set to begin at 9:00 am on Saturday, December 7 on Congress Ave. between 8th and 11th Streets. All streets are to reopen at 11:59 pm on December 7th.

Food Vendors

On Congress Avenue between 10th and 11th streets, food vendors for all taste buds will be serving up delicious bites all night.

Children’s Market

Ascent Academy is excited to bring its Annual Ascent Children’s Business Fair to the Holiday Sing-Along and Stroll this year! Twenty-four child-run businesses from across Central Texas have been selected to showcase their unique products and services at this lively event from 3 pm to 6 pm. These young entrepreneurs are thrilled for the chance to present their businesses to the public—don’t miss the creativity and innovation they’ll be sharing!

The Ascent Children’s Business Fair aims to create a dynamic, real-world learning environment where children can experience the excitement and challenges of running a business. The Fair empowers children to discover their inner entrepreneur as they develop a brand, create a product or service, build a marketing strategy, and then open for customers to showcase their very own businesses to the public!

Where: Downtown Austin (To be entered in the contest, visit the Luv-A-Bull booth next to the stage on Congress and 11th street.)
