Join KUT News, KUTX 98.9 & the Downtown Austin Alliance for our celebration of holiday cheer downtown at the 31st annual Holiday Sing-Along & Stroll. Come to Congress Avenue downtown on Saturday, December 6th for live music, local food, artisan vendors, the Capitol tree lighting, and FREE holiday fun for the whole family. Join the fun on Congress Ave. between 10th and 11th Street from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

About the Holiday Sing-Along & Stroll
What began in the early 1980s as a small Capitol rotunda sing-along led by beloved KUT radio host John Aielli has grown into one of Austin’s most cherished holiday traditions! As the event’s popularity soared, the sing-along moved to the south steps of the Texas State Capitol, where thousands of Austinites now gather each year to lift their voices in festive carols before counting down to the lighting of a dazzling, 40-foot holiday tree on Congress Avenue.
In the 2000s, the Downtown Austin Alliance joined forces with KUT News and KUTX 98.9 to expand the celebration into a full Downtown Stroll, transforming Congress Avenue into a winter wonderland of local vendors, live music and family-friendly activities. Over 20 years later, the Holiday Sing-Along & Stroll remains the official kickoff to the downtown holiday season, bringing the community together to celebrate the spirit of Austin through music, light and local creativity.

Reserved ADA parking will be available at the corner of 11th & Congress.
To ensure we have a space ready for you, please schedule your parking in advance by emailing communication@downtownaustin.com.
⭐️ Accessible Restrooms
ADA-accessible restroom facilities will be located throughout the event footprint for your convenience. Signage and event staff will be available to help direct you.
⭐️ Event Navigation
The event route is along paved city streets suitable for wheelchairs, mobility devices, and strollers. Designated viewing areas will be available for guests who may need additional space.

Free parking is available located just a few short blocks from the event:
● Capitol Visitors Parking Garage | 1201 San Jacinto Blvd.
Event street closure is set to begin at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 6 on Congress Ave. between 11th and 12th Streets. All streets are to reopen at 11:59 pm on December 6th.
