How to Find an Austin FC Watch Party Downtown

Austin has its first professional sports team, and Matthew McCounaughey isn’t the only person who’s excited about it. If you can’t score a ticket to an upcoming game at Q2 Stadium, or it’s an away game, don’t worry. There are plenty of places downtown to get in on the excitement and cheer on the home team. So, sync the schedule to your calendar, get on your verde and black and head to one of these local spots for the next Austin FC watch party.

There are several bars downtown that are part of Austin FC’s Pub Club.

Happy Chicks

Make 214 E. 6th Street your destination for the game if you love mouthwatering crispy chicken. Happy Chicks is slinging drinks and offering snacks for you while you watch and learn all the team chants. As you may know, sports and fried chicken go together better than peanut butter and jelly.

Moonlight

If you’re looking for a game day drink, try the Verde Victory Punch at Moonlight. This official Austin FC viewing location is right in the heart of downtown at 309 E. 6th Street.

Pelons Tex Mex

If you want to patronize a woman-owned business while supporting your favorite soccer team, you need to check out Pelons Tex Mex at 802 Red River Street. Pull up a seat to the cozy bar and enjoy the game with a taco in one hand and a margarita in the other.

Play on West 6th

One of Sixth Street’s favorite sports bars is a great place to be on game day. Located at 620 W. 6th Street, Play on West 6th is a great spot to meet p with when a game is on tap.

San Jac Saloon

If you aren’t sure what kind of vibe you want, head to San Jac Saloon at 300 E. 6th Street. This bar includes two venues with two different atmospheres. With craft beers, sipping whiskeys and a daily happy hour, there’s something for everyone.

Shiner’s Saloon

Looking for a friendly, neighborhood bar with elevated pub food and a rooftop patio? If so, join Los Verdes at Shiner’s Saloon at 422 Congress Avenue to watch FC Austin take on its next opponent.

Blind Pig Pub

Blind Pig Pub at 317 E. 6th Street has it all on game days. The rooftop patio is lined with televisions to make sure you don’t miss a moment of the action. The venue also has a party room filled with TVs that can be rented out if you want to have a private space to watch the game with friends.

Key Bar

If you prefer to watch a game outside under large fans, Key Bar at 617 W. 6th Street is the spot for you. This happening spot features all-day happy hours and signature popsicles for when the temperature climbs.

Parlor & Yard

Parlor & Yard at 601 W. 6th Street is yet another place just west of Congress to catch an FC Austin match. This downtown destination is a one-stop shop for all your grub and pub needs. And if game-day watching brings out your competitive side, arrive early or stay late to enjoy board games and other interactive games on the turfed yard.

Star Bar at 600 W. 6th Street has two patios for your viewing enjoyment, along with Jenga, a pizza food truck and wide variety of craft beer. There are TVs practically everywhere you look, so you don’t have to miss a minute of the game.
