As V.P. of Resource Development, Marilyn strives to build a diverse community of supporters and advocates for the mission of Downtown Austin Alliance: to create, enhance, and preserve the vibe, vitality, and value of downtown for everyone.
With 20 years of experience building support for amazing local nonprofits, Marilyn is a passionate nonprofit leader, collaborator, and community supporter. Marilyn’s calling was always evident to those who knew her or volunteered with her, and they were not surprised to learn she earned a Certified Fund-Raising Executive (C.F.R.E.) designation after her first decade of nonprofit work. Marilyn motivates individuals and institutions to engage and support our downtown projects through inspiring conversations and authentic stewardship. Marilyn is devoted to helping people live life to their fullest and leave our community better than we found it.
Marilyn is married to Matt, and they have two children attending the University of Texas at Austin.
Marilyn’s favorite things to do downtown:
- Relaxing and listening to live music at The Driskill Hotel bar
- Making new friends while checking out architecture and public art displays
- Reading a great book tucked away in Republic Square or any downtown pocket park
