Musicians Activating Spaces
The power of live music brings people together downtown.
Musicians Activating Spaces brings vibrancy to downtown spaces and places through free live music performances. This elevates the work of local musicians, builds community and enhances the experience of being in the Live Music Capital of the World.
Supporting Local Musicians
We seek out a diverse array of local musicians to feature at our events. The Downtown Austin Alliance Foundation pays artists equitably and provides marketing support. We are always looking for more artists from all genres and influences. If you’d like to perform downtown, please complete our call for artists to join our database.
Some Of Our Recent Lineups
301 Congress Porch
The Foxtones, joined on one occasion by Kelsi, played a spring residency at the 301 Congress Porch. The soul-funk energy of their happy hour performances was anchored by the “Where the Wildflowers Grow” mural by DAAS. 301 was also the home of the Juntos Block Party, which brought 4 DJs and all the vibes to The Porch.
Records @ Republic Square
Records @ Republic Square brought a free, family-friendly music series hosted by DJ Kay Cali & Friends to Republic Square every Thursday evening. This was our first recurring Musicians Activating Spaces artist series.
World Music Encounters
We partnered with St. David’s Episcopal Church to present World Music Encounters, a monthly performance series that brings together local musicians and regional musicians from all over the world.
