Register for Free Now⟶Innovative Approaches: Mental Health Diversion in Travis County
In February 20224, we learned more about the launch of Travis County’s Mental Health Diversion Pilot and planning efforts toward the creation of a permanent Mental Health Diversion Center. The pilot will leverage existing behavioral health services, contracts and facilities to expand and bolster resources. Panelists Andy Brown, Ann Howard, and Sally Hernandez, have been deeply involved in planning efforts, having conducted site visits in Miami, Nashville, Houston and Tuscon and more to understand diversion center best practices.

In November 2023, we brought together Austin Transit Partnership (ATP) leaders Lindsay Wood, Peter Mullan and Courtney Chavez to hear how they’re working to design and implement Austin Light Rail to reflect the values and priorities of our community. After the presentation and a short Q&A, folks coukd learn more about ATP’s research so far and give feedback to the team on various prompts, like “What impact do you hope the light rail will make in your community?”.
