How You Can Help: Giving Back During COVID-19

The City of Austin and Travis County have issued a public health order requiring non-essential individuals to stay at home, except for essential work and activities, as well as closing business deemed non-essential. Local businesses deemed both essential and non-essential will be heavily impacted by closures, cancellations, and adjusted hours as a result of the shelter-in-place in effect. 

Here are some ways you can help:

Neighbors in Need

All Together ATX Fund: The Austin Community Foundation and United Way of Central Texas have partnered to create a fund to help nonprofits working with people who are disproportionately impacted by COVID-19.

Central Texas Food Bank is working to provide meals to our most vulnerable neighbors. A $25 donation provides 100 meals–donate today!

Donatevolunteer, and learn more about the Help-at-Home program, recently launched by the Central Texas Food Bank in partnership with H-E-B and Capital Metro.

Give blood: We Are Blood is urgently calling for donations of blood and platelets to safeguard the blood supply for Central Texas patients in need. See the steps they’re taking to keep donors and staff safe.  Make an appointment to donate!

Help Seniors living at the RBJ Center: RBJ is seeking donations to keep their 170 elderly residents safe and healthy.

Hope Campaign’s Hope for Health initiative is working to build financial & wellness resources for the Austin creative community. Help to create wellness bags with nutrition & immunity items.

Banding Together: The Red River Cultural District and a growing list of Austin businesses and individuals are Banding Together to provide financial relief to artists, venues and events within the Red River Cultural District via a GoFundMe fundraiser.

Stand With Austin: A component fund of the Austin Community Foundation created to receive charitable donations to assist individuals and small businesses most negatively impacted by the cancellation of SXSW and least able to recover on their own.

Emergency Relief Fund: Southern Smoke Foundation’s Emergency Relief Fund provides funding to those in the food and beverage industry that are faced with unforeseen expenses that are not covered by insurance. If you or someone you know needs emergency assistance, download the application.
