U.S. News examined 125 metro areas in the United States to find the best places to live based on quality of life, the job market, value of living in each metro area and people’s desire to live there. Austin landed the number one spot on the list for the third year in a row with an overall ranking of 7.6/10 and desirability of 9/10. Followed by Denver in second and Colorado Springs in third.
As shown in our State of Downtown Report, downtown alone has become an increasingly attractive place to live with its access to outdoor recreation, live music and unique dining experiences, as well as close proximity to top Austin employers.
