Downtown Alliance Launches Project H20 to Help Our Unhoused Neighbors

August 14, 2020

We’ve partnered with community and city organizations to assist people experiencing homelessness in downtown through an initiative called Project H20. Beginning this past weekend, our Downtown Ambassadors will be providing water, masks, and information about additional resources to those facing homelessness.

The Project H20 team will operate Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. Downtown Ambassadors will distribute a weekly supply of 700 water bottles, masks, and pamphlets during the course of their normal routes.

This initiative was launched as an extension of the Downtown Ambassadors’ mission to help keep downtown safe and vibrant. Our ambassadors have been working to address the welfare of individuals experiencing homelessness downtown, especially during the pandemic.

Project H20 grew from those outreach efforts which helped the ambassadors build strong contacts within the unhoused community. In addition to providing essentials like water and masks, the initiative will serve as an opportunity to check in with individuals who might need additional medical and mental health services.
