Given the unrelenting Texas sun, it’s no wonder that Austinites prefer to spend a hot day submerged in water. Lucky for us, there are plenty of places downtown to cool off. Here are our picks of the best pool passes in Austin’s downtown. Be sure to register in advance and remember that prices and availability are subject to change.
Austin Proper
Austin Proper offers a welcome retreat from high temps with their sundown swims at its 5th-floor pool, La Piscina. Pool passes are valid between 7-10pm Saturday nights. As a bonus, pool passes come with a complimentary drink from Ranch Rider Spirits. Food is available for purchase on-site as well.
Canopy by Hilton
Soar over the sizzling bars on West 6th Street and take a dip in the cool Canopy pool. The Canopy by Hilton offers daily pool passes to soak up the sun, cool down and enjoy their poolside bar. Make a whole day of it and check out the new brunch menu at Verbena on the ground floor before you head up to the pool deck.
Fairmont Austin
Lounge around one of the largest pools in downtown Austin at the Fairmont Austin‘s rooftop pool with resort-style amenities, including poolside food and drink service from Rules & Regs, daybeds, cabanas and complimentary parking.
Hyatt Regency
Just across the lake, the Hyatt Regency next to the Congress Bridge offers pool passes to their rooftop pool overlooking the lake with the most beautiful views of the downtown Austin skyline. Enjoy a comfy lounge chair on the sundeck as your family dips and dives in the pool and adjacent whirlpool.
