Jenell Moffett, MBA
Chief Impact Officer
Jenell Moffett is the Chief Impact Officer for the Downtown Austin Alliance. For more than 8 years, Jenell has amplified downtown Austin’s economic, demographic, and social contexts through research, effective communication, and value-driven initiatives.
She was the Downtown Austin Alliance’s first-ever Director of Research & Analysis and pioneered the organization’s research efforts, including the State of Downtown Austin’s Annual Report. She is also the organization’s first Impact Officer, implementing strategies to advance diverse, equitable, and inclusive outcomes, responsible for effective brand management and communication strategy, and economic development impact analysis. Most recently, she co-led the launch of the Downtown Austin Space Activation (DASA) program, which transforms empty underutilized spaces downtown by filling them with artists, creatives, small businesses, and entrepreneurs.
She volunteers on several non-profit boards and is a spokesperson for various events, conferences, and panels. As the Board Chair of Central Texas’ only transportation management association, Movability, she helps to build a region around people, not cars. As the Urban Land Institute DEI Steering Committee Chair, she successfully launched Building Equitable Communities Exchange, an engagement series focused on making stronger connections within the built environment industry, connecting practitioners with underrepresented communities, and has championed additional funding and support for education programs that encourage diversity in the real estate industry.
Jenell has a bachelor’s degree in urban studies from the University of Texas at Austin, a master’s in business administration from Concordia University Texas-Austin, and a certification in Equitable Community Change from Cornell University.
