Aubrey Martin
Director of Development
Aubrey Martin is a nonprofit development leader with more than seven years of experience building philanthropic partnerships and mobilizing cross-sector investment to advance community impact across Central Texas. His work sits at the intersection of philanthropy, civic leadership, and community development, bringing together business leaders, foundations, and public stakeholders to fund initiatives that expand access, opportunity and strengthen the region.
Prior to the Downtown Austin Alliance, Aubrey served as Regional Director of Philanthropy for IDEA Public Schools in Austin, where he led major gift strategy and donor engagement across the region. In this role, he managed a portfolio of individual and institutional donors, partnered closely with a regional advisory board of civic and business leaders, and helped secure philanthropic investment supporting thousands of students and families across Central Texas. He also helped advance a transportation initiative designed to expand access to education through philanthropic investment in student bus programs, an effort aimed at removing barriers for families and strengthening access to opportunity across the Austin region.
Earlier in his career, Aubrey worked with the 4ATX Foundation, the nonprofit arm of Austin FC, where he supported fundraising initiatives that leveraged the power of sport to invest in youth development, public spaces, and community-building across Austin. Through this work and others across the region’s nonprofit ecosystem, he developed strong partnerships with community leaders, corporate partners, and philanthropic institutions committed to shaping Austin’s future.
Aubrey’s passion for philanthropy is deeply personal. Coming from a background of housing insecurity and limited resources, he experienced firsthand how community support and opportunity can change the trajectory of a life. That experience continues to shape his commitment to connecting generosity with impact and ensuring philanthropy serves as a catalyst for lasting change.
