Blackbird
Created by Kincannon Studios in 2017, this playful sculpture inspired by Oaxacan black pottery was commissioned by Austin’s Art in Public Places

CapMetro
Republic Square is downtown Austin’s busiest transit stop, with many bus routes stopping at or within one block of the square. Bus routes include: MetroRapid 801 and 803 and Local Routes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 17, 19, 20, 30 and more.

The closest Bikeshare station is located near the intersection of W. 5th Street and Guadalupe Street, in the northeast corner of the square. Please dismount from your bicycle, scooter, or skateboard before you enter the square.
Take a Bikeshare⟶Parking
Metered street parking is available on the streets surrounding the square. Several surface and garage lots are also located within a couple blocks. For visitors to the SFC Farmers’ Market on Saturdays, free parking is available in the surface lot directly south of the square.
