This Community Activated Parks Project is undergoing a community engagement process to explore ideas on how to revitalize this downtown greenspace through a new mural that tells the story of this area of Austin.
Get Involved⟶Republic Square Mural Sculpture
The Republic Square Mural Sculpture stood proudly in the park from March to May 2023, a beacon representing Austin’s diversity and multiculturalism. In honor of Black History Month, Women’s History Month and Austin’s Mexican American Heritage Corridor, the selected artists show us important moments in Austin’s past, present and future through their eyes.

Anchored by the 5-story mural “Where the Wildflowers Grow” by the artist DAAS, the 301 Congress Porch is amid a massive transformation. Putting community-driven design first, this nook of Austin’s downtown is quickly becoming a place for creativity, inspiration, and activity for all.
