After you?ve seen the photographs, dive into the Community Room where you'll use water and color to create your own paintings inspired by one of Austin?s favorite landmarks.

On-Going Construction Projects
Cesar Chavez Construction

Last year, the Austin Clean Water Project replaced a failing wastewater line under Cesar Chavez. Crews are now connecting buildings to the new pipe.

Beginning the evening of August 8, the contractor will be working in the outside northbound lane
of Congress Avenue. The lane will be closed for one-half block north of Cesar Chavez. All other traffic-control devices will remain in place.

The work is expected to be complete and all traffic control devices removed by August 26.

Texas artist Katherine Bash,who is currently working in London, views the making of art through the lens of science and combines the role of artist and investigator. Her new work, Broken Symmetries, is the culmination of years of research as seen in photographs, drawings and text. Her work seamlessly crosses disciplines: her photographs are poetic, drawings scientific and writings visually stimulating. All disciplines work together to explore the relationships between the natural world, geometric symmetries, and symmetries of thought. Opening Reception: Thursday, August 9, 6:00-8:00 p.m. The artist will talk about her work at 6:30 p.m.
