Directed by Robert Desimone, the talented Butler Opera Center presents the electrifying opera based on the notoriously ambiguous ghost tale by Henry James. The drama explores the corruption of innocence. Don't get too close to the cage! The inmates of Charenton are running the asylum in UT Theatre & Dance's production of The Persecution and Assassination of Jean-Paul Marat as Performed by the Inmates of the Asylum of Charenton under the Direction of The Marquis de Sade. Now that's a long title! Directed by Kent De Spain, this play-within-a-play is set in the historical Charenton Asylum. The actors are the inmates of the asylum--sociopaths, schizophrenics, narcoleptics, and other societal rejects, and the infamous Marquis de Sade is director. Mr. McAuley received his MFA from The University of Texas at Austin in 2003 and currently maintains his studio in New York. The works of more than 100 local artists come to life in The People?s Gallery, making it one among the largest visual arts showcases in Austin. Four hundred and two artists submitted a total of 1,586 entries for inclusion in the new exhibit. This is the third annual exhibition by the City of Austin Economic Growth and Redevelopment Services Office?s Cultural Arts Division designed to encourage public dialogue, understanding and enjoyment of visual art. The Austin Children?s Museum and the Austin Classical Guitar Society will host Once Upon a Time Signature performed by Rami Vamos and Walker Lewis. The General Services Administration will implode the Intel Shell to make way for the new Federal Courthouse. Beginning at 5:00 a.m.:
- W. 5th St. will be closed at Rio Grande
- San Antonio will be closed between 2nd St. and 6th St.
- Nueces will be closed between 2nd St. and 6th St.
- W. 6th St. will be reduced to 2 lanes
- Guadalupe will be reduced to one lane

At 6:45, the remaining lanes of 6th Street and Guadalupe will be closed.

Because of the overlap between Celebrate Texas' event and the Ronald McDonald House event, one run will use the northbound lanes of Congress, and the other will use the southbound lanes.
