Do you want lies with that? - OnNetworks & Whole Foods Market present the Austin premiere screening of Richard Linklater's Fast Food Nation, a fiction film based on Eric Schlosser's book of the same name. This is a dramatic feature based on material from the incendiary book of the same title, a no-holds-barred exploration of the fast food industry that ultimately revealed the dark side of the "All American Meal."

Hosted by the Austin Film Society & Sustainable Food Center, before the premiere screening enjoy a special Austin Farmer's Market, featuring more than three dozen booths in set up in front of the Paramount Theater from 4:00-7:00 p.m.

The 7:00 p.m. premiere screening will be followed at 9:00 p.m. with a Q&A with director Richard Linklater & author Eric Schlosser.

VIP Tickets: $75 for AFS members and $100 for the general public - includes entry into the Austin Farmer's Market, reserved orchestra seating in the theatre & ticket to VIP Premiere Party.

You'll find really great work at Art From The Streets (AFTS), the art sale that gives Austin's homeless community the opportunity to exhibit their artistic skills, interact with the people of Austin, and raise funds to pay for necessities such as food, clothing and housing. Original artwork starts at $30 with proceeds going directly to the exhibiting artists. A $3 admission donation helps cover the cost of supplies and materials for the AFTS twice-weekly art class. AFTS is a volunteer program that provides a safe and encouraging environment in which the positive spirit of homeless people is nurtured through artistic expression. Whether you're building a tower of blocks, a skyscraper, or a tiny but complex computer chip, layers are important. If one is missing, your structure may not survive. In other words, layers need to fit together. During hands-on fun, participants will build epitaxial layers. Sturdy wooden grids, plastic spheres, and egg cartons make this activity entertaining and educational for scientists and engineers of all ages.

Veterans' Day is a day to honor and support the current and former members of the United States Armed Services. The annual Veterans' Day Parade kicks off at 9:00 a.m. on the Congress Avenue Bridge and travels to the Capital Building. You'll have a great view all along Congress Avenue, and there will be a reviewing stand at the Steven F. Austin Hotel at Congress and 7th. A special ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the South Capital steps, which you're invited to attend.

Congress Avenue, between Riverside and Cesar Chavez, will be closed from 6:30 a.m. until approximately 10:30 for staging of the parade.

At 9:00 a.m., Congress will close from Cesar Chavez to 11th Street for the parade. The parade is expected to be finished and all streets re-opened by 10:30.

Cross streets will be closed one block off of Congress on either side. Cross traffic will be permitted to cross Congress as conditions permit. Cross streets will re-open to traffic after the parade has passed.

The walk will begin and end on at Auditorium Shores. After the Governor for a Day Parade has finished, participants will proceed along the following route:
- North, across the S. First Street Bridge via the pedestrian walkway;
- East on Cesar Chavez;
- North on Congress, in the northbound lanes;
- At 11th Street, walkers will U-turn into the southbound lanes of Congress;
- South on Congress;
- West on 2nd Street;
- South on Guadalupe;
- South across the First Street Bridge via the pedestrian walkway.

There will be no street closures for the event, but APD officers will escort the participants and traffic on Congress and cross streets will be temporarily impacted.

This special two-part presentation looks at different aspects of a streetcar system that has been proposed to serve downtown Austin, the state office complex, the University of
Texas, and the Mueller redevelopment site. First, Lucy Galbraith, Transit Oriented Development Manager for Capital Metro, will present the results of the Future Connections Study, which Capital Metro conducted to determine the locally preferred mode and route for a circulator and connector service. Charles Heimsath, President of Capitol Market Research, will then present his firm's study on the economic effects a streetcar system might have on downtown Austin.
