August 26 - Kid Metro - Where do you want to go?

Take an imaginary ride on Kid Metro, the Austin Children's Museum's new child-sized version of a Capital Metro bus. Get behind the wheel and imagine the places you'll go! Complete with bus stop, bench and route maps, experience the roles of driver and passenger. Learn why riding a bus is a good idea for our environment and learn how to use public transportation by examining maps and stops in your neighborhood. Be sure to remember to get your free pass to ride a Capital Metro bus. Bilingual signage accompanies the exhibit.

Opening Day Activities Include:

- Hands-on demonstrations to show why riding the bus is fun, safe and a solution to pollution
- Bus crafts
- Tire track art activity
- Bus themed storytime and sing-a-long
- Full size bus available for viewing outside the Museum

Kid Metro was produced by Austin Children?s Museum with major support from Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority. Promotional support provided by 3M. Admission is $3.50 - $5.50 per person.

Dance Umbrella's showcase of new dance and performance works by emerging and established artists promises to be one eclectic evening. 10 MINUTES MAX is being billed as a creative forum where artists will present interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary concepts - "where dancers explore theatre, theatre artists explore movement, and musicians explore both." And like its title, all pieces are no more than 10 minutes. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children under 12.
