To Jun 18 Robert DeNiro Collection Arrives

Actor, director and producer, Robert De Niro, has donated his collection of film-related materials to the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center at The University of Texas at Austin. This impressive collection includes scripts and books with handwritten notations, correspondence and notebooks DeNiro kept of his films. More than 3,000 costume items are also part of the new collection, including a a full body cast used in the 1994 production of "Frankenstein." Select items will be on view in the Ransom Center's lobby through June 18. Once processed, cataloged and housed, the collection will be available for research.

This week will focus on the short stories and writings of Jorge Luis Borges in relation to Josefina Guilisasti's installation La vigila (The Vigel). The Book Club is held on the second Thursday of the month.

Here's your chance to get a broad brush understanding of Western art. This engaging and informal course covers the history of western art for the novice art historian. You will look at film and art in a whole new way after this screening. The dreamlike imagery of director Richard Linklater's Waking Life was captured through sophisticated software that allowed artists to digitally "paint" over footage of live actors. This screening is part of the Alternative Technologies Screening Series.
