Featured Event

May 31-Jun 18 The Bunk Bed Brothers
State Theater, 719 Congress
(512) 472-5470, austintheatre.org

You do not want to miss this comedy by two former Seinfeld writers. Put it on your calendar - now!

Pat Hazell, the star of last year's smash hit, The Wonder Bread Years returns to the State Theater in Bunk Bed Brothers.

This nostalgic comedy captures all the hilarity that goes with an all-night bull session between brothers spending an evening together in their childhood bedroom. Surrounded by bad 70's shag carpeting, Hot Wheels cars and other remains of yesteryear, they relapse into giddy jokes and rivalries and find out what it really means to be brothers.

Hazell returns as a local Austinite. "I brought my family to Austin for a three-week run and we all really dug the vibe. Austin is one of those rare cities where a short visit makes you say, 'I could live here.' But nobody ever actually does that on whim. Cut to: Hurricane Katrina. With the support of the folks of the State and Paramount we traded in our Louisiana home with the filthy Katrina patina for new digs off South Congress with a queso-well in the backyard."

Showtimes: Wed-Fri: 8:00 p.m., Sat 4:30 & 8:00 p.m., Sun 2:30 & 7:00 p.m. Purchase Tickets online, or call (866) 4GET-TIX.

May 30 Austin Clean Water Program

Beginning Tuesday, May 30 expect phased lane closures for several weeks, at the intersection of Cesar Chavez and Congress.

Message boards will provide the latest information on the lane closures. The contractor will be working on a temporary 24-hour schedule to expedite the completion of the project.

Traffic will be able to move through the intersection; however, Cesar Chavez, east of Congress, will be narrowed from four lanes to two so drivers are asked to consider alternate routes when possible.

The phased lane closures are the result of Austin Clean Water Program (ACWP) wastewater line improvements. The ACWP is the City's response to a federal mandate that Austin prevent sewer overflows or face fines of $27,500 per overflow per day.

Please call the ACWP hotline at 684-3204 if you have any questions.
