A Malian band of rebels, Tinariwen's desert blues was born of the circumstances of exile and suffering. Their story is one of rock and roll rebellion with a difference. Tinariwen means "empty places" which reflects their desert homeland in West African country of Mali--Powerfully, moving sounds.
