Come and celebrate the glitz and glamour of A Classic Hollywood Christmas through a series of special events, parties and shopping. Stroll down Rodeo Drive and visit more than 200 merchants from around the country for that special Christmas gift!

For the past 30 years, Junior League members have continued to refine this signature fundraising event, which has become known as Austin's kick-off event to the holiday season.

Money raised through this fundraiser has enabled The Junior League of Austin to invest over $1,000,000 annually towards projects to support youth, education, cultural enrichment and health and well being.

1980'S party! The Paramount is thrilled to present The English Beat, featuring guitarist Dave Wakeling. The English Beat is easily the premier Ska/pop act of all time. Austin's own legendary new wave/punk band Standing Waves will open the show. Harkening back to the glory days of Austin clubs like Raul's and Duke's Royal Coach Inn, The Waves were one of the most popular and danceable bands of Austin's Seventies and Eighties punk scene. New Video, New Europe: A Survey of Eastern European Video features recent work by more than three dozen artists from sixteen Eastern European countries stretching from the Baltic through the Balkans. Despite its uneven development throughout Eastern Europe, video has become a staple of contemporary art practice. The work reflects a variety of genres and approaches - documentary, diaristic, ethnographic, experimental - and is broken up into a series of discrete programs ranging in length from 45 to 105 minutes. This is a fascinating look at the cultures, the tensions and the realities of living in Eastern Europe.

La Peña Gallery will host a sale of traditional Maya textiles to benefit victims of
the mudslides that recently devastated the highlands of Guatemala. Proceeds from the sale will go toward the reestablishment of the Hospitalito Atitlán which was destroyed in the catastrophic mudslides. The textiles being sold are from the Indígena Imports Collection and are all of museum/collector quality.

Saltillo's Mayor, Ramos Flores, Visits Austin for the Opening Reception of Hermanados En El Arte 2005: Austin/Saltillo. "Friendship in the Arts" features over 40 pieces of artwork by 15 artists from Saltillo, Coahuila. The exhibition displays a variety of media including paintings, watercolors and sculpture. The showcase highlights the first time Saltillo artists are invited to exhibit work via the "Sister Cities" cultural exchange program. The exhibit will be on display at Mexic-Arte until November 27 and on view at La Peña (227 Congress Avenue) from December 2-31.
