Aug 13 Collector's Share Fair and Workshop

In conjunction with the fabulous Shared Treasures exhibit showcasing treasure collections throughout August, Austin Children's Museum is hosting a Share Fair this Saturday, starting at 10:00 a.m. Kid collectors can gather, show off and share their treasures with other kids and visitors.

Fred Webster is seen here, along with part of the license plates he's been collecting since the 1930's that are part of the exhibit.

Shared Treasures Workshop

Kids ages 5-10 will also get a huge kick out the Shared Treasures Workshop from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. This fun, interactive workshop highlights concepts such as reusing and recycling, sorting and organizing, math, expanding vocabulary and learning about the self through the delightful hobby of collecting.

The whole day is included with Museum admission. Please call (512) 472-2499 to register for the workshop as space is limited.

Specializing in urban initiatives and Downtown retail environments, Midge McCauley brings 25 years' experience as a specialist in retail consulting for urban projects, business improvement districts, and community development operations.

You'll also meet Linda Asaf, the Alliance's retail recruiter and learn how she'll be recruiting new retailers to add to the Congress Avenue mix by working closely with real estate brokers, property owners and existing retailers on Congress Avenue.
