Jul 22 Pulse: a STOMP Odyssey

A celebration of the global beat, Pulse: a STOMP Odyssey takes you around the globe to uncover the rhythms of cultures from New York City to the American Southwest, Africa, South American, Asia and Europe. Along the way, you'll meet gumboot dancers, taiko drummers, djembe players, bell ringers, flamenco dancers, marching bands, street performers and everyday people living out loud.

On opening night, July 22 beginning at 5:00 p.m., kids of all ages can take part in FREE activities, like playing percussion instruments and joining a drum circle led by Sherry Gingras of Ryhthm Connection.

Then stick around for Music under the Star, with a free concert by the Celtic group, Cluan, from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. Rhythm Connections returns for brief hands-on workshops during Cluan's intermissions.

IMAX Theater ticket prices are a stompin' good value - $7 adults, $6 seniors/military and $5 youth 18 and under.

Rave reviews and popular demand bring Teatro Vivo's production of "Petra's Pecado" (Petra's Sin) back on stage. This hilarious and heart-warming bilingual play, written and directed by local playwright Rupert Reyes, delivers two acts of giggles and glee. Petra's Pecado has played to sold out houses in all previous productions! The familiar folks from the town of Las Flores prompted one Austin American Statesman writer to comment, "Petra's Pecado may become the 'Greater Tuna of Chicano regional theater."
