Based on the true life story of "Little Sure Shot" Annie Oakley, "Annie Get Your Gun" follows an Ohio farm girl as she finds fame and fortune (and yes, love) in the wonderful world of show business.

With Irving Berlin's classic score and spectacular production numbers, such as "There's No Business Like Show Business," this show will be an evening of sure-fire fun for the entire family!

This is a FREE show that runs Thursday - Sunday, starting at 8:00 p.m. through August 13.

By the way, this is the 47th Annual Zilker Summer Musical, and the longest running outdoor production of its type in the United States!

The City of Ausitn will host a new lineup for its Austin City Hall plaza concert series to offer the public free live music at noon on Fridays. Free parking is available in the City Hall garage (enter off Lavaca Street).

The Austin Museum of Art (AMOA) announces "Second Saturdays are for Families," a new program from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. that invites families to drop in on the second Saturday of every month to make and take home art! Experiment with paper punch and collage techniques with experienced art educators to design and complete your own collage. Your work will be inspired by the art of Charles Mary Kubricht, whose exhibit, "Scanning the Grand Canyon," is now on display.

This new exhibit pays tribute to 100 years of moviemaking in the Lone Star State. Texas' own homegrown filmmakers take the spotlight, from the unique vision of contemporary directors to the work of historic Texas-based production companies. See artifacts from more than 80 films, including the oil-drenched clothes donned by James Dean in Giant (1956), the vintage Chevy Bel Air police cruiser from Sin City (2005), lobby cards for The Sugarland Express (1974) and Cloris Leachman's Oscar for Best Supporting Actress (pictured) in The Last Picture Show. The whole family will love this one!

What's summertime without watermelons? The Austin Farmers' market is celebrating the country's most popular melon during its Watermelon Festival on July 9. Fun for the whole family with a watermelon eating contest, watermelon seed spitting contest and a watermelon jiggle race. The Austin Farmers' Market will be selling slices of ice-cold watermelon to help market goers to cool off. There will be live music at the market stage and a chef's demo. Look for farmers to bring a plentiful array of summer produce including watermelons, blackberries, peaches, squash, beans, okra, peppers, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, and even shelled black-eyed peas to the market. The market runs weekly every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. through Dec. 17, 2005. Admission is FREE!
