The Arthouse at the Jones Center is showcasing the fascinating work of emerging artists from around the United States during "New American Talent: The Twentieth Exhibition."

New American Talent, just as the name implies, features the work of 23 artists who are coming into their own. They work in a variety of media including sculpture, painting, photography and new media. Each work was selected by New American Talent juror Dan Cameron, Senior Curator at the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York. Among this year's "New American Talent" are 13 artists who currently live and work in Texas.

The Opening Reception for this extraordinary art event takes place Friday, June 17, 8:00 - 10:00 p.m. This exhibit opens Saturday June 18 and runs through Sunday, August 21.

Wild, wacky and great fun. For this year's Assault, race teams will compete to win championship prizes of a 2-year lease on a new 2005 Subaru Legacy 2.5L Wagon, bikes, and over $7,500 in other prizes. The Subaru Urban Assault Race is an urban multi-sport event open to the public. The races combine cycling and 10 mystery events, which could include kayaking, rock climbing, mental challenges, even adult bigwheels! Teams of two race their bikes to checkpoints around the city, obeying traffic laws along the way. Once they complete all 10 checkpoints, in any order they choose, they race back to the start/finish area for the final crazy obstacle.

The Congress Avenue Bridge will close from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. for the staging of the parade.

Beginning at 2:00 p.m., Congress will be closed from the bridge to 11th St. for the parade. The closure will last until 3:00 p.m.

Colorado will also be closed between 11th St. and 13th St. from 1:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
