Starting this Saturday, in honor of National Armed Forces Day, this film follows the true story of Captian John "Otter" Stratton as he undergoes strenuous Red Flag training, one of the most challenging flying exercises designed to prepare for real-life scenarios. You'll leave with a whole new perspective and appreciation of how our country is protected from the skies.

Learn to be a Storm Spotter with SkyWarn Training from the National Weather Service. This 1:00 - 4:30 p.m. workshop also features live music, flash flood and flood safety exhibits, a multimedia presentation of Austin's flood history, a dramatic home video of flood rescues, the Flash Flood Alley documentary film. Austin Public Library's Echo the Bat and Austin Fire Department's Sparky will be on hand especially for kids.

Our panelists will be Travis County District Attorney, Ronnie Earle and Neighborhood District Attorney David Laibovitz. They will lead a discussion about the Downtown Reentry Initiative. This is a collaborative project that diverts offenders being released from the Travis County Jail into transitional housing and employment. Also being discussed are the results of the 2004 Public Intoxication Enhanced Analysis for Travis County.
