Central Texas roads are congested and only getting worse. Toll roads and managed lanes are valuable tools that free up congestion, improve safety, and save taxpayer dollars. Send a letter to the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Speaker of the House urging them to support the use of toll roads across Texas.

Texas Senator Kirk Watson has specifically requested that the Downtown Austin Alliance support a community-wide effort to encourage state leaders to address traffic congestion in Central Texas. Texas is expected to double in population by 2050. Central Texas is projected to grow 160% in that same period. We cannot accommodate that growth without significant and sustained investments in our transportation infrastructure—after all, we can’t accommodate our current traffic.

Please join the Central Texas business community’s effort to call on state leaders to allow our community use the best operational and financial tools available to tackle congestion on I-35 and throughout the region. We have partnered with the Austin Chamber to generate letters of support.
