Since the inception of the Downtown Public Improvement District (PID) in 1993, the City of Austin has always sent downtown property owners a separate bill for their PID assessments. In 2017, the City turned PID billing over to Travis County.

Starting this year, the Travis County Tax Office will include PID assessments on the same tax bill as City of Austin, Travis County, AISD, ACC, and Central Health. The bill includes the following statement: "Assessments for public improvement districts are not taxes but are collected by the Travis County Tax Office under an agreement with the municipality."

To view your bill, you may search here. The easiest way is to enter your account/billing number, which is also known as your property's Geographic ID. You can also contact the Travis County Tax Office at 512-854-9473 with questions about tax amounts, rates, bills, or due dates.
