Austin is the Live Music Capital of the World with over $2 billion brought into our economy through live music, yet sadly 80% of Austin musicians earn less than $17,000 a year. The mission of the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians is to provide access to affordable health care for Austin's low-income, underinsured musicians with a focus on prevention and wellness. HAAM has helped over 4,200 musicians access over $40 million in affordable healthcare services.

The Downtown Austin Alliance is proud to support HAAM Benefit Day 2017. On Tuesday, September 12, Austin businesses and music venues will host over 200 performances from local musicians all over the city and donate a portion of their daily sales to support HAAM. Funds raised on HAAM Benefit Day are crucial to ensuring that local musicians continue to receive primary medical, dental, vision, hearing, and mental health services through HAAM and HAAM's affiliate service providers. Last year, they raised just over $500,000 from more than 300 participating businesses, and this year we have set a challenging goal of raising $520,000.
