CodeNEXT Mobility Prescription Released

The CodeNEXT team has released its third of four Code "Prescriptions," recommendations created to stimulate discussion on quality of life issues for Austinites and how those issues relate to rewriting the Land Development Code.
The topic of this Prescription is Mobility, and is intended to start a discussion on how the City can better address transportation issues in the Land Development Code rewrite. 
The Prescription titled "Moving Austin Toward Becoming a More Multimodal City" can be viewed here. 
The major topics in the Mobility Prescription are:
  • Changing from an auto-centric city to a multimodal region
  • Mitigating the effects of congestion
  • Parking
  • Affordability
  • Cost of growth
  • Safety
Austinites are encouraged to join the discussion by providing insights into how transportation affects them and how the Land Development Code can help improve their lives. Below are opportunities to engage with staff, the CodeNEXT Advisory Group, and other residents in order to discuss the paper.
