The Pilates Mat Workout is one of the best things you can do for your body. It's a great way to get in a Pilates core workout and strengthen and tone your overall body.
Mat exercises are adaptable to any fitness level which makes this a challenging class for anyone, no matter your level. Each class takes you through a series of exercises that are done on the floor (mat) without Pilates machines but providing the same attention to core muscles and overall body toning.

Working against resistance is essential to the Pilates exercises, which are designed to train the abdomen, lower back, hips and buttocks; the core. But you can accomplish this using either a mat, where your own body weight creates resistance, or a reformer, where pulleys and springs create resistance. By working the core muscles you improve strength and posture and develop a lean, long line.
